Mid Century Danish Rosewood Dining Table & Six Chairs by Lynggard Møbler & Prebe
Beautiful and highly sought-after mid-century modern Danish dining set, comprising an extending rosewood dining table by Lynggard Møbler and a matching set of six solid rosewood dining chairs by Preben Schou. A superb example of Danish craftsmanship and design from the 1960s.
The table features a rounded rectangular top with two separate extensions, allowing it to extend smoothly from 180 cm to an impressive 300 cm, perfect for both everyday use and larger gatherings. It is raised on twin and middle sculpted pedestal bases, giving it a striking architectural look. The table has been exceptionally well looked after by one owner since new, and the extension leaves match the main surface beautifully (something quite rare, as uneven light exposure often causes colour variation over time). Here, the tone remains consistent throughout.
The set is complemented by six solid rosewood dining chairs by Preben Schou, featuring high, contoured slat backs and beautifully sculpted frames. These are quite simply some of the most comfortable dining chairs you will ever sit on (we’ve sold many sets over time, and they are always praised for their comfort). You’re very welcome to come and try them for yourself.
The chairs retain their original green wool upholstery, which is in very good condition overall, free from any nicks or tears. They could benefit from a professional clean, or we can arrange reupholstery at an additional cost if desired.
A truly beautiful and complete dining set that would make a real statement in any interior.
Excellent vintage condition throughout. Both table and chair frames have been cleaned and wax polished.
